LeMMCAP Plans for 2011, Next National Convention in Davao City

DILIMAN, Quezon City -- The regional officers of the League of the Municipal and City Agriculturists of the Philippines, Inc. (LeMMCAP) held its three-day consultative meeting to come up with their final extension program for 2011 and for their plans for the national convention next year in Davao City.
 
The LeMMCAP, formerly known as the Devolved Agriculturists` Association of the Philippines (DAPI), represents some 1,700 municipal agricultural officers, municipal and city agriculturists, and agricultural technologies nationwide. In view of the Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991, the LeMMCAP is being tapped by the Philippine Government to become effective partners in attaining the national goals towards agri-fishery modernization, capability enhancement, fora and consultancy together with the Department of Agriculture's (DA) policy makers, planners and stakeholders.
 
The Agricultural Training Institute, as the DA's extension and training arm, serves as LeMMCAP's national secretariat and provides technical assistance to the organization in fulfilling their plans and activities as a catalyst in agriculture and fisheries development.
 
The LeMMCAP's consultative meeting is held from December 14 to 16, 2010 at the Melchora Aquino Hall, ATI Central Office in Diliman, Quezon City. (Beatriz A. Yanga with reports from Rosemarie E. Dulla)
