DILIMAN, Quezon City--Anticipating for a certification for an ISO quality management standards, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) intensified its chances for certification with the conduct of the” Training-Workshop on Internal Quality Audit” for selected ATI-Central Office staff. Its main objective was to familiarize the participants that will comprise the ATI Internal Quality Audit (IQA) to the basic concepts of quality management systems auditing.
With ATI intending to form a strong IQA team that will satisfy the requirement of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), lectures on managing audit program, audit team preparations, evaluation and reporting, auditing process and audit flow was discussed by Varian Sherwin T. Ojeda who served as the resource person. About 19 representatives from the different divisions of ATI-CO participated in the two-day training.
Assistant Director Alberto B. Maningding as the ATI's Quality Management Representative, encouraged the team to give their best as he noted that "IQA auditors are very helpful to the (ATI) Management on what needs to be done." He added, "Do not be overwhelmed on what lies ahead. There might be many changes after the training course. We're used to rely so much on memory recall that cause trouble in the process."
The training was held last July 20 to 21, 2010 at the Serrano Hall, at ATI Central Office in Quezon City.(Benedict C. Natividad with reports from Pamela Mappala)
