that so-called e-extra bonding

Mature people like us are pre-occupied with our inclination. We sometimes tend to forget how to divide our time. Time for us is ‘fragile’ so they say, fragile to the point that we don’t want to ruin it for our diverse purpose in life. My friend caught me off-hand because she wanted me to define friendship cum bonding. Wow! I was blown. I cannot figure it out, with which a simple question such that is difficult to answer. I was dumbfounded so to speak. Thus, I answered the question operationally (to achieve fairness). Friendship for me is simple. It is about trust and honesty between entities while bonding is making that simple friendship a glimmer of delight and enthusiasm. When the e-extension program of DA-ATI spread her horizon and invited us for its second batch of e-learning coordinators who at the same time the respective region’s webmasters – I was taken aback for a while because half of the participants were not from our section. It is hybrid. Personnel from the administrative section down to the technical (which is the usual) forged together as one for the same purpose. This scenario made sense. It did not hinder the activity instead it provided a sundry of attitudes and backgrounds that blend the program so well.

Fast forward. Every time the e-Learning Coordinators and the Webmasters convened to upgrade, enhance and assess their learning and achievement – I noticed that my definition of friendship cum bonding applied. All of us look forward to attend. It seems everybody is excited. We even popularized the “bring a delicacy” per region to make the fellowship night an extra affair (not to mention, de-stressed the host center to think of what to prepare) because everybody cooperates. Of course aside from these finger foods – our individual presence is a plus because the activity serves as a renewal of ties and query though, where most of us shares our respective angst and feat. As such, these so-called e-extra bonding is a turner for all of us. Rewind. Even if we are engrossed with our laptops and pc’s as much of our time are spend online (that made this ‘scenario’ weird for our colleagues which sometimes they brand as “may sariling mundo” [dwells in different world] or “hilumon kayo” [silent-type because of work-related reasons]) yet we find time to play and unwind. Despite all of these – we made the e-extension program of DA-ATI soar high which we are aware that this was once a dream now a reality. Kodus to all of us. Remember! More achievements mean more and more work…
