ATI holds Computer Literacy Training for AEWs

The increasing use of technology at all levels of society signals that there is a major demand for computer literacy for employees and even our Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) who performed a variety of tasks. They often collect and gather data in agriculture, fishery and other related fields that are basis in the framing and implementation of development programs.
ATI-Caraga Staff Attends International Training
One of the staff from ATI-Caraga attended the International Training Course on Agricultural Marketing Focused on Infrastructure Development held on June 5-18, 2011 at the Bayview Park Hotel, Manila, Philippines. Mr. Heracleo A. Paler, Agriculturist II was one of the 7 members of the Philippine delegation who joined the other participants from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
Municipal-wide Agri-Pinoy Briefing and Teknoklinik
ATI-Caraga simultaneously conducted the Agri-Pinoy Briefings and Teknokliniks to the different municipalities throughout the region mainly to create awareness on the current DA programs anchored on the Agri-Pinoy framework. Over 200 farmers and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) per site attended the series of briefings from May 17 - 31, 2011.
Paradigm shift in Agriculture: A must
“Building a More Responsive and Dynamic Agriculture and Fisheries Extension in Caraga Region, 2011 and Beyond,” this was the theme of the workshop on Pagbabago Tungo sa Matuwid na Daan conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Caraga on April 11-14, 2011 at the Ariano's Hotel, Baan, Butuan City. The thirty five (35) participants were composed of heads and representatives of the different agencies within the region.
Mass Graduation held 3 times in 3 years of e-Learning
ATI Caraga has shown consistency in the promotion of electronic extension program of the Department of Agriculture through e-Learning. This is manifested through the 3rd Electronic Learning Mass Graduation held at ATI Training Complex, Los Angeles, Butuan City on December 14, 2010 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Agri-Pinoy as Paradigm Shift Catalyst in Caraga
Caraga is one of the eleven (11) identified priority regions for Agri-Pinoy implementation in the country. The list includes Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions IV-A, IV-B, V, VI, VII, IX, XI, XII, and Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.Now, what really is Agri-Pinoy?
Adoption of SORJAN farming system
Let us promote Sorjan technology and encourage farmers adoption especially in Agusan Marsh.” These were the words of DA-RFO 13 Regional Executive Director Reinerio B. Belarmino, Jr. in his message during the opening program of the Season-Long TOT on Rice Production for the Wet Season conducted by the ATI-Caraga on November 8, 2010.
Livelihood Projects awarded to 4-H’ers
A total of twenty five (25) agri-based livelihood projects were granted to active 4-H Clubs within Caraga region under the 4-H Club Youth Development Program.

Lintunganay, ATI-Caraga’s first ever School-on-the-Air (SOA) on PalayCheck with FFARMS (Farm Family Approach on Resource Management for Sustainability) Concept Integration is now being heard every Tuesday, from 5:00 to 6:00 in the morning over DXBB FM-Tandag, 92.1 kHz, starting November 16, 2010.
