             ATI MIMAROPA spearheads the implementation of a 10 Million worth coffee project in the region. It is the first ever HVCC Project downloaded to ATI to boost and rehab Coffee Production. The ATI-RTC Region IV-B with its main office at Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro have conducted a series of meetings and workshop to facilitate and be able to have a comprehensive plan for  a coffee production to be established in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon Province.

                The main objective of the project is to produce a first class coffee and to rehab the ailing coffee industry in Region IV-B.

                With the ATI Region IV-B OIC-Center Director or the over-all chairman of the project the technical working group (TWG) was organized.

                Likewise, other ATI-RTC IV-B staff will be utilized as support staff during the implementation of the project, like the Administrative Officer, Drivers, Budget Officer, Planning and Monitoring, and Supply Officers.

                The first workshop / meeting was held at the Center last August 28-29, 2009 presided by the Chairman. They focused their discussions on the preparation of the plan, site selection, conceptual framework, documentation and Monitoring Program. Tasking was also discussed.

                Second meeting held on September 3, 2009 at the group conducted site visitation on September 4,2009 and talked to the Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer (MARO) Rodrigo Suarez, Municipal Agriculture Officer Val Sales and ABC Brgy. Captain  Alfredo Viaña of Convazon. During their meeting, they agreed to work for the expansion of coffee program and they will identify farmers for the Coffee Production.

                On its third meeting which was held on September 9, 2009 at Bansud, the TWG finalized the plan aside form site inspection, site identification and soil sampling, an area of 100 hectares was identified for Bansud, 20 hectares for San Teodoro and another 30 hectares for Brgy. San Andres, Odiongan, Romblon.  On the 3rd week of September conduct of Pre-membership Seminar, Organization of ARBs and Orientation on Project Concept for Plantation was done.  ATI and partners believe that coffee production in the region will be recognized as one of the producers of high quality coffee in the market.
