First Rice Stakeholders Meeting in MIMAROPA held in Palawan

The First Rice Stakeholders Meeting was held at the Legend Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan last September 29-30, 2009. This meeting was organized by the DA-RFU IV-B and was attended by representatives from LGUs (MAOs, ATs and Report Officer) OPAg, BPHRE, PHILRICE, ATI, NIA, NFA, BPI NSQCS and Seed Growers.

Discussed were status updates of the FIELDS Program in the province of Palawan. There are three (3) identified training needs by the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs). Infomation and Communication Technology (ICT), Extension Delivery System (EDS) & TOT on Palay Check Systems. Such training will be funded by DA-RFU, for ICT they will tapped PhilRice while ATI will manage training on EDS and Palaycheck System. According to Ms. Tess Aguilar of DA-RFU such training will be implemented before the end of this year.
