502 Graduates Ready for Dairy Herd Management

The 4th, 5th and 6th batches of the Refresher Course on Dairy Herd Management had graduated a total of 502 participants who are enthusiastic to pursue a career in dairying. Currently, the 7th batch is ongoing. The group of graduates were among the participants to the said refresher course conducted by the
Claveria Livestock Raisers Cooperative (CLIRCO), Claveria, Misamis Oriental, through its President, Mr. Cresencio Barros, in collaboration with the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X of El Salvador City, ATI-RTC FITS Center and the Misamis Oriental State College for Agriculture and Technology (MOSCAT) at Claveria, all of Misamis Oriental. Mr. Barros is also the Magsasakang Siyentista of ATI-RTC 10 FITS on dairy.
 
The two to three-month training program aims to equip the participants with the required knowledge and skills in dairy herd management, in response to the pressing demand for employment, not only in the country but also abroad, particularly in New Zealand.  The training modules include calf rearing, milking, animal health and nutrition, tractor driving, and general farm maintenance with electric fence fixing, delivered through lecture demonstrations, with a requirement of  240 hours practicum.
